This original watercolored Valentine would appear flat when received. By pulling on the thread in the center of the page the viewer can peak beneath to see the two love birds. Spider Web Valentine donot survive intact very often. This Valentine was created in1835 and is on embossed paper.

It is written around the Web: “Lift up the Roll, and there you’ll see – Is Auntie Kissing King Willie!!” “EVER THINE”

The Valentine is very, very carefully framed with the thread extended so the secret sentiment is revealed. The 19th Century lemon-gold ripple frame is shadow boxed to make the spider web extended. The frame measures 9 inches high by 6 1/2 inches wide and 2 inches deep.
