Schoolgirl Art of the Late 18th and Early 19th Centuries
Young women attended female secondary educational institutions before co-education schools. There they were introduced to The Three Graces which were Music, Embriodery, and Watercolor. Watercolor was done not for commerical purposes. It was done as pattern for embriodery, recording & picturing nature, remembrane, reward of merits, and Valentines.
